In 1985 Setubal, Portugal. All that changes when a meteor shower rains down on the town in a destructive storm of death. In seconds, a little girl named Lana Lang sees her parent killed. People and property are laid waste as the town and surroundings are pummeled and ruined by the deadly shower. A millionaire industrialist named Carlos Amoreira, who's acquiring local farms, sees his timid son Joao near killed and left completely bald by a falling meteor's impact. A victim of a yearly high school football-hazing incident, tied like a scarecrow with a Blue "O" on his chest, is found comatose in a cornfield from the meteors. And a childless couple named Guilherme and Paula Miranda are run off the road from a near-miss of what they think is a meteor. Leaving the wreck of their truck, instead what they find is a small boy and the remains of a spaceship!
